What Is a Diagnostic Check?

Modern vehicles are equipped with onboard computers that monitor everything from engine performance to safety systems. When something goes wrong, these systems generate fault codes that can be read using specialist diagnostic tools.

A diagnostic check allows us to:
Identify fault codes and system errors
Pinpoint issues in engine, transmission, brakes, airbags and more
Recommend the most effective repair solutions
Save time and money by avoiding guesswork

What We Check

Our diagnostic service covers all major vehicle systems, including:

Engine management
Transmission and gearbox
ABS and braking systems
Airbag and safety systems
Battery and charging systems
Fuel injection and emissions
Climate control and sensors
Electronic control units (ECUs)

Once we’ve identified the issue, we’ll explain it clearly and offer a fair, transparent quote for any necessary repairs.

Making Diagnostics Easy for You

We understand that car trouble can disrupt your day. That’s why we offer a vehicle collection service – we’ll pick up your car, carry out the diagnostic check, and return it to you with a full report and recommendations.

We also offer discounts to NHS staff, helping key workers access essential vehicle care at reduced rates.

Great Service

I recently took my ageing car to DNS Car Care for a MOT. It was the first time to use this garage. My car subsequently failed its MOT and needed some remedial works which was booked in. I received a very professional service at a reasonable price. I was also regularly kept updated by phone which was greatly appreciated. On this one occasion, I cannot fault DNS Car Car and will most definitely be taking my car back there again, if needed. Thanks DNS Car Care. Best John
